college residence
noun phrase
A college or university building containing living quarters for students. dorm, dormitory, residence hall, hall. building, edifice - a structure that has a roof and walls and stands more or less permanently in one place.
Example: I am a full-time student, living in the college residence.
enough
adverb
To the required degree or extent (used after an adjective, adverb, or verb).
Example: You are kind enough to allow me to do this.
expect
verb
Regard (someone) as likely to do or be something.
Example: My cousin's wedding is taking place in my home country and my family expects me to be there.
grateful
adjective
Feeling or showing an appreciation for something done or received.
Example: I would be grateful if you gave me permission to be absent for the week.
international student
noun phrase
International students, or foreign students, are students who chose to undertake all or part of their tertiary education in a country other than their own and move to that country for the purpose of studying.
Example: I am an international student in my second year of the Business program at the college.
permission
noun
The action of officially allowing someone to do a particular thing; consent or authorization.
Example: I would be grateful if you gave me permission to be absent for the week.
program
noun
A set of related measures or activities with a particular long-term aim.
Example: I am an international student in my second year of the Business program at the college.
repeal
verb
Revoke or annul (a law or act of parliament).
Example: The work placement program has been repealed this summer.
take place
verb
occur.
Example: My cousin's wedding is taking place in my home country and my family expects me to be there.
